SKParker Art projects can be as complicated as a watercolor scene to an illustration of thought-provoking concepts or portrait illustration.
I am NOT the Internet police. Some of the content on this site is considered for MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY!
"Is That Supposed To Be Me" is a place where someone has received a free of charge portrait of themselves done in my choice of medium type, Find these in the = MENU at the top or the three bars at the top left if on a smart cellphone device.
Let's start off with SOLD paintings from the past. All "Giclée Prints" are numbered and hand-signed by SKParker. "Giclée Prints" are EXACT printed copies of original work. So far five ORIGINAL works have been sold.

"Flights of Fancy" This artwork produced and created by SKParker was entirely painted on ARCHES, 100% Pure Cotton, 140lb. Parchment.
The peace depicts a group of unknown species of birds flying with determined looks and set common goals---except one that decides he does not agree and frees himself from the chains of stupid "group think".

"I Heard You Were Gone" County Schools ran a facility where hearing testing of children and some adults took place at this captured scene. This mundane place was a challenge to capture and depict the sense of its own inner beauty. I met the goal of reconstructing the dumbest looking building that I could imagine. The trees now gone only depict the compassion that left there some time ago when the County Schools Hearing Conservatory left the premises in 2017.

"Forgotten" Twenty (plus) years ago. I hung out at the Studio Channel Islands Artist Residence Group at what is now the CSUCI college campus in south Camarillo This was the courtyard of the artist area studios that before the late to mid-1990s was a state-run sanitarium.

"Bombing Baghdad" is a mishmash of used magenta paint splattered on some arches single sheet 140 lb. watercolor paper. At the time in 2003 everyone was pretty uptight about the Iraq conflict and hence this quick painting which is the prize possession of an acquaintance I once knew.

"Camarillo House" One of the first watercolor projects completed by SKParker in 2001. At the time this now California State Historical Landmark was under renovation from years of neglect. Drawn and painted on sight under the massive fig tree in 2001.

"Zuma Rock" Painted on site at the beach with sand blowing all over the place. Zuma Rock is located at Zuma Beach in Malibu California where I was blessed to be able to visit after a short drive to the beautiful Pacific Ocean in 2002.

"Time Out" One day in 2017 I was so disgusted with my work-a-day job that I stayed home and painted in the backyard patio. I painted this as a scene that I imagined in my mind so I could find peace in my turmoil of idiocy---and refill contentment in my heart.

"Anacapa" A mountain rises from the Pacific Ocean and Anacapa is it's name. This scene depicts my being there whilst installing fiber optic cable from the Solar Building to the Dock Building for the National Parks Service. They used this to present their show across the internet world for their "Underwater Dive Program." Referenced fro

This scene depicts my being there whilst installing fiber optic cable from the Solar Building to the Dock Building for the National Parks Service. They used this to present their show across the internet world for their "Underwater Dive Program." Referenced from a photo while there in 2006 and climbing up from the dock to the stair landing (that was grueling at best).

"Seconds Count" Can't paint when it is dark. (Sometimes I think I have with the less than desirable works, LOL.) This was painted on 18"x24" Arches 140 lb. Cotton in 2005 from a reference photo while I was a passenger on south Highway 1, just south of Carpenteria California in 2005. This won "Honorable Mention at a juried show at the Ventura Marina Art Gallery.

"Where Is Everybody?" Rent a tent. Set up your art. Pay the $45.00 entry fee, and they will be flocking here. Yet again another art show gone awry, S classic No show. The First (and perhaps the last). "All That Jazz and Art Show" in 2004 is depicted here. No one showed up. Hence the artists were pacing back and forth exclaiming, "Where the f#@k is everybody?" Painted on site looking out of my tent at the two across the walk from me at the show.

"Adrift Without You" Many who have come and gone from the stages of my life. Some may falsely believe they do not matter or somehow I have forgotten them. This is not the case. Painted in 2024 from a scene in my mind while contemplating the price of separations and love lost in time.

"Everywhere In Between" was painted with Daniel Smith watercolor paints in 2024. It was shown to the public at a very limited venue in mid-2025.

"It's Dripping" Completed in watercolor, and then later enhanced with very slight pastel overlay. This larger work locked away for twenty-two years. It has never been shown in public. Scene was painted from a reference digital photo taken with a HP 2MB camera at the time in 2003.

"Goodbye Camarillo" Painted in :2002, I always thought I would be departing from the place I love. My yard (at the time) grew these roses. They were this beautiful shade of yellow and dark red tips. This was from a reference photo I took of one on our pass-through window.

"WaterWorks" was painted in watercolor on Arches 140 lb. cotton parchment in an art class I attended in March of 2003. Instructor said it was "Excellent." She did find the roll of toilet paper quizzical.

“Jargon Concerto” is one of my finer watercolor paintings completed in 2005 from a scene taken digitally at a residence in Ojai California. This person was a nice friend, and her collection of antiques was immense. We would have spirited talks about God and such. She passed away in late 2005---and I was sad at the void she left. Another friend lost in time.

This was done long ago when my daughter was age three. Who knew that her son would mark on my artwork just like she had done many years ago. Life is sacred. Tell those that you love that you cherish them.
Let me know if you think you should be the next..."Is That Supposed to Be Me?" contest winner.
